Archive for January, 2015

Nottingham trio Kagoule formed at school, and quickly rose to prominence on the city’s live scene. Now all 19 with a couple of eagerly snatched up seven inches released and a storming Glastonbury 2014 set, they’ve signed to Earache Records and have just finished recording their debut album.
Cai Burns is the singing guitarist, Lucy Hatter is the bass playing singer, and Lawrence English is the fourth member and he does things to drums. The third member is never spoken of, or seen, doesn’t deserve a name and must be appeased with offerings of rare fruit and old magazines every time the moon is a waxing gibbous. Woe betide those who fail to do so. They do all their own stunts, including walking. Their hip, new, fresh sound of tomorrow excites the youth, and has been described as ‘music’ by The Press.

NEW SIGNING – Cheerleader

Cheerleader is Joe Haller, Chris Duran, Josh Pannepacker, Carl Bahner and Paul Impellizeri. Haller and Duran’s musical partnership was born in Duran’s parents’ basement, sparking a connection that survived the 2000s and colleges in separate states. After garnering critical attention from the likes of NME for their self-produced and recorded three-song demo, the duo grew and began performing live. Now a five-piece based in Philadelphia, Cheerleader is a bigger version of its original incarnation. “Thanks to our touring and recording, we have a lot of confidence now,” says Haller. “I really can’t imagine Cheerleader without Josh, Paul, and Carl. They’ve had a huge impact.”

NEW SIGNING – The Bulletproof Bomb

Say a big hello to our exciting new signing, The Bulletproof Bomb

Bullett Proof-9

At the age of 18 the band came on to the scene last year and have already built a reputation for their raucous guitar driven sound and explosive live performances.
Originally the band started off as only two of the original members (Joel and Mike) writing and recording demos in their bedroom. After gaining interest from publishers The Bulletproof Bomb evolved into a five piece set up so they could play their music as a live band.
The band self released two singles last year through Paper Round Records ‘Suitcase’ and ‘Five Green Bottles’ which gained unprecedented support from the likes of Zane Lowe and the second single even ended up on the BBC Radio 1 playlist. This lead on to the band landing some great gigs playing the likes of Bestival, Boardmasters and headlining the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds.
The band are published by A Songs and managed by Anglo Management. All the bands material has been recorded and produced by Rory Attwell (The Vaccines, Yuck and The Palma Violets) in one of the coolest and most unique studios in London ‘The Lightship 95’. After laying down the foundations last year the band have been hotly tipped for 2015.
